Brent Museum and Archives have received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £250,000 to deliver Being Brent – Heritage for Health and Wellbeing, a wide-ranging project delivered to involve the biggest cross-section of community members. Being Brent encompasses the diverse range of Brent’s heritage through parks and green spaces, natural habitats, notable industrial and built heritage, as well its cultures, faiths and traditions.
Brent Museum and Archives will work collaboratively with local groups and organisations to increase engagement with Brent’s story. New digital avenues will be used to shine a light on local stories, places and artefacts, enabling more people to discover heritage on their doorstep. Building on the current collection and the legacy of Brent’s year as London Borough of Culture in 2020, this work will support communities across Brent to take ownership of their heritage.
